UPI, Google Pay, Paytm, Phonepe, Amazonpay Payment transaction limit
Unified Payments Interface (UPI) has become incredibly popular in India. Thanks to the efforts of NCPI and banks, UPI adoption has made it convenient for both merchants and customers to make small payments without the need for cash. The user-friendly interfaces of popular UPI apps like Google Pay, Paytm, PhonePe, Amazon Pay, and others have further contributed to the growing reliance on UPI in India. However, did you know that there are limits on the amount you can transact via UPI in a day?
For regular UPI transactions, the limit is set at Rs 1 lakh per day. It's important to note that no bank allows UPI payments exceeding Rs 1 lakh within a 24-hour period. Additionally, the amount you can transfer via UPI in a day also depends on the specific app you are using. Let's take a look at the transaction limits for popular apps such as Google Pay, PhonePe, Amazon Pay, and Paytm.
Paytm
As per NPCI regulations, Paytm allows payments of up to Rs 1 lakh in a day. Apart from this, Paytm does not impose any restrictions on UPI payments.
Google Pay
Users of Google Pay, also known as GPay, cannot send more than Rs 1 lakh via UPI in a single day. Furthermore, the app limits users to a maximum of 10 transactions per day. This means you can either make a single transaction of Rs 1 lakh or up to 10 transactions of varying amounts.
Amazon Pay
Amazon Pay permits payments of up to Rs 1 lakh via UPI. The app allows a total of 20 transactions in a day, but new users are limited to transactions of up to Rs 5,000 within the first 24 hours.
PhonePe
PhonePe has similar transaction limits to Google Pay, with a payment cap of Rs 1 lakh per day. However, the app does not impose a limit of 10 transactions per day.
